We had been in the house on Merit Drive for just a view days. My other son moved with us. We also had three cats.
I had already scoped out the neighborhood for any dogs. The only ones I noticed were in a chain linked fence that was a few houses down from us. So, I felt comfortable letting the cats outside. Our house had a small front porch and they liked laying out there, especially at night.

One night, I was awakened by a loud scuffling sound outside. I jumped out of bed and as I got closer to the front door, I could hear dogs growling. It didn't take long to realize what was happening. Dogs had found my precious kitties and were attacking them. These were not just dogs. They were Rottweiler's.

When I opened the first door, it set off a chain reaction. The cats took off with the dogs at their heals. Two of the cats made it up a tree but Monkey, the white one (my baby), couldn't make it up the tree. I had clipped his claws earlier so he wouldn't scratch the furniture.

So Monkey ran across the front yard as the killer dogs were moving in on him. All I was wearing was a flimsy gown and no shoes as I began to run after them, yelling all the way. The ground was wet and my feet were hurting but I didn't know why at the time. All I could think of was Monkey and shooing those dogs away. But they just ignored me.

Later, I found out why my feet were hurting. The dogs had knocked off a terra cotta pot and broke it. I stepped on it on my way down the steps. So, I was running across several yards with cut, bare, wet and dirty feet.

My heart was beating so fast that I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I couldn't catch up to the dogs as I saw them catch up to Monkey. One grabbed Monkey with his mouth and shook him like a rag. I was terrified & there was nothing I could do. I couldn't get the visual out of my mind.

I saw the dogs run off, with my baby. They ran to the back of someones house. It must have been 2 a.m. and there was a party going on down the street. It was for spring break and, not knowing what was going on, the neighbors began yelling at me as if they thought I was some crazy old woman.

Maybe they thought that I was complaining about them
I ran back to the house and tried to wake up Joe. My heart was beating so fast that I feared having a heart attack. He finally woke up and I began trying to tell him what had happened and that he needed to help me find Monkey.

It's very hard for me to recall all this now, because Monkey meant a lot to me and I was already blaming myself because of clipping his nails. I knew that the dogs had killed him.

Joe got up and we jumped in the car to try and find any sign of Monkey and the dogs. Joe grabbed a machete and we started to take off. It was then that we saw the other two cats and let them in the house. We got back in the car and drove around the area but there was no sign of them. It was as if nothing had ever happened.

But it did happen and I couldn't get it out of my mind. The only way that I got through the next day at work, was to have Joe call me every 30 minutes until it was time to go home. I was more depressed than I would be if a friend had died.

There was nothing ghostly about the events that had taken place the night before, but it was what happened next that convinced us that there was something very strange happening in our house.

We had not, completely, finished unpacking when I ran across an 'Alf' stuffed animal. Remember the T.V. show 'Alf'? It was about an alien character that ate cats. I was unpacking the box that he was in, when I reached in to pick him up, his ear just fell off in my hand. It was as if someone had taken all the stitches out.

That was a little strange but more things began to happen. Alf was a talking stuffed animal, the kind that had a string to pull. One day, just after Monkey died, Alf talked all by himself and he said 'Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty'.

We didn't have a refrigerator yet but arranged to borrow a small one (apt. size) from a friend of Joe's. It would do until we could buy a bigger one.

Then it happened againn. Alf spoke again. He said 'Let's go see what's in the frig' and then he laughed an evil laugh.

It's was as if Alf was mocking the death of Monkey. How was a stuffed animal talking by himself?

Strange things continued to happen and we knew that we had to do something so Joe's friend suggested an exorcism. Her preacher volunteered to come over and perform it. We all stood in a circle as the preacher said prayers and talked, sometimes, yelled at the ghost (or spirit). He told him to go away and leave us alone. After the exorcism, the preacher talked to us and told us what to do, or rather, what not to do.
He said to not acknowledge the ghost and to keep positivity in the house. He said to try not to think about it because, if we did, it would continue to torture us and that it would only get worse.

We did as he had said, but we moved as soon as we could find another place.

We believed that the ghost was that of Joe's friend, who had just committed suicide a couple of days after Joe left him and came to stay with me. He had vowed to make Joe's life a living hell.

I'm new here so if I post something in the wrong place, you'll know why.
I have been exposed to a lot of paranormal stuff, a lot of strange things; things that can't be explained. There's so many that there's no way I can list them all unless I go to my 'myspqace' blogs and see if I can find some that I've posted or go to a document that I keep my stories in. I am disabled and I can't type for long periods of time. I just get too tired.
I promise, though, that I will get on it tomorrow, if I don't have time tonight. I have a Dr. appt. tomorrow and have to get to bed before the usual time of 4:00 a.m. It's worth waiting on,
