Foster Homes, Have you been in one? Good or bad

you hear so much on the new's about foster home's, I've been in many, myself . have you been in one, or were you a foster pearent , what happned? was it a good home or a nightmare? or have you fostered kids? whats your story or experiance? Good or Bad, yes I would like to here the whole story(DETAILS PLEASE),you never know it just might help someone
to many times the people look away
there's got to be more people that have had to deal with this

I have never been in one, but two of my closest friends were in the system pretty much their whole lives. Some of the stories they have told me break my heart. I will never be able to understand why people who have no genuine interest in being a foster parent do so. I understand that there is money involved, but the way I understand it, that is to help pay for things for the child. But I could be wrong. I personally would love to be able to be a foster parent someday. I want to be able to provide at least one positive home for some of these children. Can I ask what your experiences in them were like?

Manda sorry for taking this long it's been crazy with funral arrangments and things, maybe you should think about it,they need good one's, yes the stories are nightmares, it's called child labour, it's called greed, now not all are bad, in all the home's I was in, only one treated me like a little kid, and encourged me to play and talk,thats when I was 3 years old, they really like foster kids on the farm, they run your ass off, they need more worker's, it's hard for the worker's because they are given so many cases there's no way they can really know whats going on, then they ask the child if everything is ok in front of the foster parents, so the kids won't say anything, they just slip through the so vcalled system, they say it dosen't happen much ,but that aload of BS!!! untill a child is killed or hurt badly, most times they won't take them to the hospital, they'll lose that it of money, and they'll be reported to the police, IT SUCKS!!

I totally understand what you mean. I am so sorry that you had to endure that kind of treatment. And it is not right that they ask how things are going in front of the foster parents. That is so intimidating to the child. They have to fear the wrath of the foster parents if they say something that is bad. It breaks my heart that children are taken from a bad situation and just put into another one. I wish they would have a better screening process before allowing people to become foster parents, so that good ones will be the rule rather than the exception.

I'd like to hear from good foster parents to,I know it's not all bad, the people just lie, and get better at it as time passes,now alls I have to do is put my story in here, and that would be wonderfull if it was mostly good homes, and like I said I hope that maybe a foster child will read this and reach out for help,

WOW!! Melvina, pertty good isn't good enough, I'm just blowen away about how you over came this, I don't care if you were the worst kid in the world, those people hurt you badly, I can feel it, you are an amazingly strong person, not to many make it to where you have, you sound like me, with what your saying it could be me, I'd like to hear the whole story, so other's will know what gose on in these so called ,carring home's, who know's maybe it'll help a foster child ask for help if they read this,

wow Melvina for what you went through you are amazing person, I've been the punching bag myself,amoung other things, it's nice to hear you had at least one not bad home, one of my foster parents rubbed my sister's face like a dog in a sheet she had wet the bed that nigh with, you should be doing talks at schools and pleaces about it, it would help some kids, I'll tell somethings tomorrow I'm falling asleep, ok sorry, I'll be back ok

Mel I'm sorry. but I wont be abel to post a story today, I've got this super bug called MRSA, thats giving me abscesses, and a sever lung infection, now I have posin ivy, my temp hit 103 and still climbing, , my brain ran away again lol, did anyone ever use a razor strap on you or any, they dipped it in the disenfecten they use to wipe the cow's tite's, i'll get back asap, ok I'm, really sorry about this

I was in a foster home that had a baby raper next door who molested the foster parents son, and nobody knew for a long time. Well he grew up only to molest other kids. What a cycle I personally hated the foster homes I was in. They treated me like a slave.

my nephews and nieces were taken off their parents and put into foster homes. it was the best thing that ever happened to them.
